Francis Summit County Utah

Francis is a town in Summit County, Utah located and is part of the Salt Lake City Salt Lake City Metropolitan Statistical Area. It is located in the Wasatch Range near the Jordanelle State Park which offers many activities such as camping, picnicking, fishing, boating, water sports, swimming hiking and mountain biking. Additionally, the nearby Jordanelle Reservoir is a man made source of water supply.

According to the United States Census Bureau of 2000, Francis has a population of over 650 people. The town has a total area of 1.8 square miles with a population density of over 390 people per square mile. It is located at very high altitudes of over 6,500 feet above sea level.

The racial demographics of Francis are 93.13% White, 0.07% African American, 0.80% Native American, 0.29% Asian, 0.07% Pacific Islander, 4.92% from other races, and 0.72% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race make up 6.87% of the population.

Francis has more than 200 households. The median income for a household in the town is $55,536, and the median income for a family is $59,464.

Summit County is located in northeastern Utah and is surrounded by eight counties, including two counties from Wyoming. Summit County is part of the Salt Lake City Metropolitan Statistical Area.

The county is mostly occupied by a mountainous terrain and includes 39 of the highest peaks in Utah. The Wasatch Range and Uinta Mountains dominate the landscape of Summit County and are popular attractions for outdoor activities.

Summit County is home to four cities, two towns, five census designated places and three unincorporated communities. The County seat is Coalville and the largest community is Park City, a major ski resort town.
